Steps

  1. 1Make the Teriyaki Sauce
  2. 2Add all of the ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. While you bring the sauce to a simmer make the cornstarch slurry by whisking together the warm water and cornstarch in a small bowl.
  3. 3Once the sauce is simmering, whisk in the cornstarch slurry and let the sauce simmer for 1-2 minutes as it continues to thicken. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  4. 4Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season one side of the ground beef liberally with salt and pepper.
  5. 5Cook the beef
  6. 6Once the skillet is hot, add the oil and then flip the seasoned side of the ground beef into the skillet. Sear the beef for 5-6 minutes on one side and then flip and break the meat up. Add the garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes to the beef as it continues to cook.
  7. 7Sauté the veggies
  8. 8Keeping the skillet over medium-high heat, add a bit more oil to the pan if needed and then add the carrot, bell pepper, and onion. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until the veggies have begun to soften but are still crisp. .
  9. 9Add the beef back to the pan and stir to combine with the veggies.
  10. 10Next, add 1 cup of the prepared teriyaki sauce and then add the broccoli and snow peas. Stir to combine and sauté for 2-3 more minutes until the broccoli and snow peas become bright green and are tender yet crisp.
  11. 11Turn off the heat and finish with green onion. Serve over rice and garnished with sesame seeds.
