Pizza Pinwheel Recipe (Swirl Pizza)

Steps

1. 1To begin the preparation of Pizza Pinwheels, in a bowl mix all purpose flour, salt and instant yeast. If using active yeast, dissolve it with lukewarm milk and let sit for 8-10 minutes until frothy to ensure it's active.
2. 2Dissolve sugar in lukewarm milk. Add this milk along with oil to the flour.
3. 3Mix everything and knead to get a smooth dough. No need to knead so much.
4. 4Keep aside covered with a wet cloth, preferably in a warm place for at least an hour.
5. 5After an hour, it will be doubled in size. Knead again the dough on a well floured surface.
6. 6Then roll the dough into a rectangular shape. Spread pizza sauce, sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese, chili flakes and oregano.
7. 7Starting with one short side, begin rolling up the dough and press edge to seal. Roll tight so the filling doesn't fall apart while slicing.
8. 8Wrap the log shaped dough with butter paper and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
9. 9Take out the dough from refrigerator, using a serrated knife cut the log into thick slices.
10. 10Transfer the slices to a baking tray lined with aluminium foil. Let the slices rise a bit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
11. 11Preheat the oven at 180°C. Bake the pinwheels for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
12. 12Meanwhile warm up pizza sauce. Serve warm Pizza Pinwheels with warm pizza sauce for dipping immediately.
