Steps
- 1Heat up a Dutch oven or a pot over medium-high heat. Add in the beef and break it apart with a spatula. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
- 2Add in the chopped onion and stir the mince. Cook until the beef has browned up, and the onion is translucent. It should take around 5 minutes.
- 3Add garlic, Italian seasoning, dried basil, crushed red pepper flakes, tomato paste, and orzo into the pot. Stir very well and cook for 1 minute or so.
- 4Pour tomato sauce, beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce into the pot. Give all the ingredients a good mix, and let it cook.
- 5The pot will start bubbling up; lower the heat slightly. Then, keep it uncovered to continue cooking for 10-15 minutes. Stir it frequently while it's being cooked to prevent the orzo from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
- 6Once orzo has cooked completely, remove the pot from the heat. Stir in fresh baby spinach and grated parmesan. Cover the pot for 5 minutes to let it thicken up.
- 7Season with salt and black pepper and serve with a sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese and chopped basil.
