Steps
- 1Prepare about ½ lb worth of Korean radish and 1 Tbsp worth of hot pepper. If you don’t want hot pepper, you can replace it with 2 Tbsp worth of green onion as well.
- 2Chop the radish into 2 inch long thin strips.
- 3Season the radish with ¼ tsp salt and let it set for about 10 minutes.
- 4Chop the hot pepper into tiny pieces.
- 5After 10 minutes, the radish will get nicely seasoned. Now, add ½ cup of Korean frying mix (or pancake mix), ⅛ tsp of salt, and about 2 Tbsp of water to the radish.
- 6Mix everything together. Since we got a little bit of water from the salted radish, we do not need as much water to add to it this time.
- 7Finally, add the chopped hot pepper and mix one more time. It is too simple and easy to make, isn’t it ? 😉
- 8Take out a spoonful of the radish mixture. Then, put it in a heated and generously oiled pan. Spread it out to get a nice circular shape. Fry them for about 5 minutes on medium-high.
- 9After 5 minutes, flip them over and fry for another 5 minutes to make them beautifully golden brown. If needed, add some more cooking oil here and there to make it extra crispy jeon.
